John Sun received the B.S. degree with honors in electrical and computer engineering (summa cum laude) in 2007. He interned at NVIDIA and IBM TJ Watson Research Center. He received the best student paper award at IEEE Data Compression Conference in 2011, the Claude E. Shannon Research Assistantship in 2011-'12, and the inaugural EECS Paul L. Penfield Student Service Award in 2013.
